A lovely evening for a family shot on one of my fave beaches, Langosta!
Angie and Micheal were married at Cala Luna in Langosta. It was a child filled wedding where the kids almost outnumbered the grown up s but, oh, how much fun to ring in the new lives to the sound of the young.

This was my first wedding at this charming hideaway spot in Portrero. Talk about relaxed, Jenni and Chris were very ready for their day.

I have been fortunate to have travelled in most of the Caribbean islands over the years, however, Jamaica is in my eyes, the most spectacular. Mountains upon mountains covered in green. So it was with much anticipation that i waited for my claneder would trip over Misty and greg at Negrils famed Rockhouse. Only weeks before , Hurricane Gustav had blastyed through the island and althought the hotel sufferd only wave damage, the staff were working night an day to amke it all happen at the damaged pool area. Of course, like always , things went of without a hitch, a classic caribbean sunset wedding.

Occasionally, i second shoot for one or two good friends. The beauty of being a second shooter ( and one of the reasons i get taken) is that for the second shooter the pressure is off and creativity can prevail. As primary shooter, you are fully focused on the bride and groom, with only peripheral attention to those outside the wedding party and the details of the event. A second shooter can do this.
Towards the end of the beach shoot, after another dance with the weather gods, we were blessed with the most spectacular sun lit sky with every shade of burnt orange. I started to shoot over my friends shoulder a with a different lens set up but i took a different perspective and started to shoot the shoot with this spectacular backdrop.
i hope you enjoy the results

During this time of year, as you can read in previous posts, we dodge the weather. It doesn’t rain all the time but one has to time everything just so….. Leticia and Grant had this figured out and requested that we go to my favorite fishing beach before the ceremony. they had heard about the fishing shack and wanted some formals there. When we arrived the place was buzzing with long line fishermen baiting their lines before a long nights fishing. As it turned out the rain stopped 10 minutes before the ceremony and the sunset was to die for

As i got in the car to drive the twenty or so kilometers to Flamingo beach Resort yesterday, the heavens opened.
Now, i understand that this was going to make the bride anxious but i had hope.
I had hope that it would pass over us and i would be blessed with my favorite lighting conditions. The road was covered like an ice rink in summer, rivulets of brown mud crossing the road like school children, i was barely on time because of my defensive driving in the teeming rain.
Amanda and Levi were cool like pros. I asked Levi how he was faring. He shrugged his shoulders and answered with a confident smile. I love a groom who has no doubt as to why he is here.
Amanda was on schedule, bouncing around her cavernous hotel room in boxer shorts and a tank top, fussing over her bridesmaids details as if it were their wedding not hers. Only once did i see her peek behind the drawn curtains at theĀ storm laden, gray sky outside. I was inwardly happy. I new we were going to have great light……And sure enough, we did!
- Kick it to the kerb girlfriend!!!
- You have to keep the boys busy somehow
- A kiss among flowers
- A moment
